Doulton Lambeth Kiln, 19th Century Antique vase by Kate Rogers Large size, approximately 31cm tall. Kate Rogers was an artist at Doulton from 1880 to 1895 and was known for her beautiful floral designs. This flower vase features a base of pale pink and green, with lavishly painted white flowers. Delicate plant patterns adorn the neck and foot, and gold rings provide an elegant finish. The kiln mark on the bottom, "doulton lambeth England," also includes "Carrara." Carrara ware is a type of stoneware, produced on a small scale mainly from 1887 to 1903, making it a rare item. Kate Rogers' signature is also inscribed on the bottom. ※ Henry Doulton, the son of John Doulton who founded the Doulton Lambeth kiln in the Doulton district of England, actively employed women as artists, which was unusual at the time. This aligned with the emerging feminist movement, contributing to the advancement of women's status and recognition of their abilities. In the era of Henry's son, Lewis, the company was honored with the royal designation from King Edward VII. Henry allowed each artist to create freely, which sometimes disregarded profitability and hindered the unification of the Doulton Lambeth image and style.
