This is a Toyobo kama (tea kettle) said to have been favored by Toyobo, a disciple of Sen no Rikyu. It is a dignified, cylindrical tea kettle with a beautiful paulownia wood pattern by the kama master, Munenobu Hiramatsu. I am selling it as part of a house clearance. The attached kettle ring has delicate inlay work, a masterpiece that showcases the craftsmanship in every detail. It is a valuable item not only for tea ceremonies but also as a collection piece. Condition of the item Used - Long-term storage. The kettle body, bronze lid, kettle ring, and original box are all included. There is rust inside due to aging, and some discoloration on the outside, but there is no significant damage, and it is in good condition for an old item. The original box has stains due to aging.
