It's 100% polyester but a fairly sturdy material with some weight. I believe the lining was a heat-retentive material, but I don't remember the name. Depending on your body type and size, you could wear it as is, or wear it over your other clothes to warm up in cold weather. There are no noticeable scuffs or scratches, but please understand that this is a used item that has been stored at home for a long time.
