Thank you for viewing. I purchased this square plate because I liked its unique composition. The main feature is the plant in the center. This is Omoto (Japanese sacred lily). Omoto is a plant of the Liliaceae family. The Chinese name "Mannensei" (万年青) comes from the evergreen perennial herb. There are various theories about Omoto. The leaves are painted in sometsuke (blue and white), and the berries are depicted in red. The rim is gilded. The rugged rocks where the Omoto grows. It is positioned firmly, stopping at the lower right of the window in the center. Looking at the sky, there are two birds. They are probably swallows. The different colors represent a couple. They are flying around together happily. The flow of the river running from the upper right to the lower left creates a change in the composition and brings the piece together as a single work. I'm already satisfied just looking at the center, but the rim is also quite impressive. The plate sits a little unevenly, but that's probably due to its age. There are no major chips, but there are some scratches on the rim. I think they are probably kiln marks, but please check the images carefully.
