Moodisc was a label centered around Harry Mudie, known as the composer of "Drifter." During a time when Jamaica was dominated by protest songs and Rastafarianism, Moodisc consistently produced soft reggae, such as love songs. At first glance, it might seem like a less serious label, but in reality, it was a unique label with a stubborn streak. This record is Jo Jo Bennett's first album, released in 1970 by Moodisc Records, just as Jamaican music was transitioning from rocksteady to reggae. It's his only solo album and features a re-recording of his rocksteady hit "Lecturer," along with other songs like "Leaving Rome" and "What's My Colour," showcasing his funky trumpet performances. ● This is a record often played in vintage clothing stores and Indian goods shops – a healing record♪ If you're always listening to punk and hard rock, you might get tired...
