I bought it for campfires, but I didn't use it at the campsite because I didn't want to. I'm not sure if it's a flame-retardant material, but it's a sturdy mountain parka. It's used, so there may be deterioration or stains that I haven't noticed, so please consider purchasing only if you understand this.
