This is a Cuban cajon I purchased in Havana, Cuba around 2010. Like Cuban-made congas and bongos, it's difficult to obtain, and this is the only one available. You likely won't be able to buy another unless you go to Cuba, so it's a rare find in the Japanese market. Search for "Cuban Cajon" on YouTube or Instagram to see reference videos from Cuba. It's made in Cuba, so what might look like scratches are from when I bought it. It's made of thick, rugged wood because Cuban people hit it hard. This is a genuine, heavy-duty cajon, not a copy from a musical instrument maker. It doesn't have the typical snare wires found in most cajons; it's a different kind of instrument. I've hardly used it. You can also play it like bongos or congas, by placing the quinto between your legs. Please check the photos for the condition. The segundo has rubber attached to the bottom to prevent scratches. Sizes: Segundo: Approximately 61 cm tall, with a playing surface of approximately 35 cm square. Quinto: Approximately 31.5 cm tall, with a playing surface of approximately 30.5 cm square.
