They focused on and examined the US ARMY's iconic Baker Pants (utility pants), specifically those from the late 1950s to the early 1960s. Based on deadstock from that era, the pattern making was done using American standards with "inches" to faithfully reproduce the size specifications of the time. The sewing is done at a factory with a proven track record of supplying the US military. The fabric is a completely original MSG & SONS creation, made by dismantling deadstock from the 1950s and researching the weave structure. The cotton back satin, recreated from the yarn using American cotton known for its roughness, faithfully represents the unique unevenness of vintage fabrics. Furthermore, by varying the hardness of the weft and warp yarns and weaving them to the limit, the fabric has a strong firmness. This is a masterpiece created with an understanding of the history and culture of old America, and with respect for the original vintage.
