It is a very popular instrument for professionals as well as amateur players. I am selling it because I have switched to a new instrument. It's easy to hold and not too heavy. It is also recommended for women. ・Checked at a musical instrument specialty store in October 2025, and it was confirmed that there were no major problems. I also had no particular problems when playing it myself. ・Although it was manufactured in 1979 (serial number: #104XX), it is an instrument in very good condition. This instrument, like the 901, has a thick, mellow sound and rich overtones. The intonation is also consistent, and it accepts various reeds well (especially compatible with Haseberry reeds). ・I purchased it in July 2024 after an overhaul at a famous store in Kansai. When I purchased it, I compared it with the Yamaha 831 and the Buffet Crampon R47, and I felt that it had a much deeper tone and was easier to control. ・It is lighter than the current Marigaux 901, and is also recommended for those who find it difficult to hold the instrument for a long time. ・I have performed in an orchestra performance only once. It blends very well with the surroundings and has enough power for solos to reach far. ・My lesson teacher also played it and told me that the instrument still has a long life despite being an old instrument. ・There is no major damage such as cracks in the body or chips in the bell. The plating has some blackening, but there is no peeling and it shines beautifully.
