The vibrant cobalt blue of the sea, burned into my memory. If only I could take it home as my own. Ishigaki-yaki, made on Ishigaki Island, fulfills the wishes of such travelers. This sake cup was purchased in 2007 at Misaki on Ishigaki Island. I was captivated by the flake-like neon colors that appear in the glaze depending on the viewing angle, and that's what made me choose it. Since it's shallow for an ochoko (sake cup), it would be wonderful for special, strong-flavored snacks or for serving truffle chocolates during tea time. It has been displayed as a collection without being used, so it is in beautiful condition.
