It serves as a design accent. The indigo-dyed kasuri used for the main body of the bag has no purchase record, but is likely old Kurume kasuri. The bold patterns and deep colors of this fabric are impressive and very cool. The base has a stable oval shape. The bag opening has a magnetic flap (lid) to conceal the contents and provide security.
