These are Rikyū-style disposable chopsticks made from the wood of urushi (Japanese lacquer) trees after the lacquer has been harvested. They are not lacquered, but made from the core of the wood, which does not contain any lacquer components, so there is no risk of skin irritation. They are characterized by a faint golden color.
