Please comment before purchasing. This is a rainwater manhole cover created to commemorate the birth of Saitama City in May 2001. Similar to the sewage and combined sewer manhole covers created at the same time, the design features the city's flowers and trees, "Zelkova," "Primrose," and "Cherry Blossoms," surrounding the city emblem in the center. However, the rainwater manhole cover has a cute design using close-ups of the flowers and trees. Zelkova is associated with Omiya Hikawa Shrine and Saitama University Street (National Route 463), which has the longest Zelkova tree-lined street in Japan. Primrose is associated with Tajimagahara, which is designated as a national natural monument as a natural habitat. Cherry blossoms are associated with Omiya Park, which is selected as one of the 100 best cherry blossom viewing spots, and Minuma Tambo, which is the longest cherry blossom corridor in Japan.
