Deba knife, blade length 20.8cm, 445g. The spine is about 9.8mm thick near the top of the heel. It seems to be a brand from a while back. It's nowhere to be found even in the used market. This is a genuine kasumi construction, with soft iron and steel laminated together. It's a majestic size, easily exceeding 20cm. I don't know what era it's from, but the water buffalo horn handle suggests it was originally very expensive. Although it's a water buffalo horn, it was quite worn and whitish, so I painted it, horn and all. It looks like it will last for a while. I sharpened it thoroughly, put an edge on it, and polished it. Please see my profile for the detailed restoration process.
