Wakayama Prefecture lemons. These are "訳あり" (imperfect) lemons harvested and sorted today. Some have bumpy skin or black spots, which is due to the reduced pesticide use. Lemons grown outside of greenhouses cannot be sold without pesticides due to diseases like black spot. Since I use the lemon peel at home, I am committed to reduced pesticide use, using only the minimum necessary for growing lemons. Of course, no wax or preservatives are used, so you can rest assured. Please understand that these are "訳あり" (imperfect) items. If you are looking for perfect lemons, please refrain from purchasing or purchase with the understanding of the price. The lemons are turning yellow and are full of juice. They are fresh, so they can be stored for a long time if kept in the vegetable compartment of your refrigerator.
