It is a gorgeous shikishi with an impressive "Kotobuki" character powerfully expressed on red fabric. "Kotobuki" means longevity, prosperity, and joy, and has been a lucky charm familiar as a celebratory item and good luck charm since ancient times. It is finished with a three-dimensional silk cloth (crepe-like), which has a warmth and presence different from flat calligraphy. It is recommended for display in Japanese-style rooms, entryways, alcoves, and as decorations for New Year's, wedding celebrations, and longevity celebrations. The yellowing and discoloration due to aging add to the antique quality, making it a stylish shikishi. As it is an item from the early Showa period immediately after the war, it is a very valuable item that conveys the good old days of Showa, which is never available now.
