I've used them several times for camping and have washed them in a household drum-type washing machine, but there may be some lingering campfire smell. There are some areas that look like fraying. I didn't see any stains, but there's a possibility I missed something as I'm not a professional inspector. The fabric also shows some signs of use, but it's still perfectly usable.
