At the traditional Hatsumiyamairi held at a shrine, it is customary for the baby to wear a traditional kimono. This uchikake is for a baby boy. A long undergarment (nagajuban), which is worn under the kimono, is also included. Both the outer and inner fabrics are 100% silk (pure silk). It is a high-quality item, hand-sewn, hand-embroidered, and hand-squeezed. The "Takarabune" (treasure ship) pattern is featured in the center. It also includes a mallet and pine tree patterns, creating a cute and cool design. The fabric is a good quality rinzu (figured silk) with a thick and smooth texture. The Takarabune carries the Seven Lucky Gods and is a sailing ship loaded with treasures such as gold, silver, and jewels. Therefore, the Takarabune is considered an auspicious ship.
