He also won the Minister of Education Award at the 7th Tokyo International Print Biennial. In 1972 (Showa 47), he won the Gold Prize at the 1st Florence International Print Biennial, the Medal Prize at the 3rd Krakow International Print Biennial, and the Purchase Prize from the National Museum of Warsaw, becoming a star in the printmaking world of the 1970s.
