A picture book by Ali Mitgutsch, one of Germany's leading picture book authors. "Das neue Riesenbilderbuch" means "The New Giant Picture Book." It's quite a presence, measuring 41 x 61 cm when closed and 82 cm when opened. The illustrations are charming, with many fun discoveries scattered across the pages. Everyday life scenes and fun vehicles are depicted with care and a unique sense of humor. It's a picture book with no text, so even children who can't read yet can enjoy it. It's bigger than my child's height, and they always got so excited when it was opened. I bought it at a German toy store for about 10,000 yen. There are some stains here and there, but they don't obscure the illustrations (see photo 8). There are also some things that can't be removed, like crumbs from snacks that the child dropped (see photo 9).
