This item has a vintage feel and is very tasteful, making it perfect for display as an antique in an old folk house. It was purchased for about 10,000 yen at an antique shop in Hagi City. The jubako (tiered food box) appears to have had the deteriorated parts inside repaired, so I think it can be used with some ingenuity for osechi (New Year's dishes) and the like. The plates have considerable damage, such as a chipped edge on one of them, so I don't think they are very practical. I don't know if the metal container, which looks like a water bottle, is clean inside or if it can be used. The wooden box has insect damage, scratches, and dirt, and although it has been wiped, the dirt does not seem to come off.
