This is a matcha tea bowl by Jeff Shapiro, a disciple of Jun Isezaki of Bizen and also the teacher of his son, Koichiro Isezaki. It features Shapiro's unique sculptural style and is generously adorned with sesame seeds. Shapiro is also close friends with Ryuichi Kakurezaki, and his work transcends the boundaries of Bizen ware.
