[8] Shape: Extra-large rectangular inkstone ◉ Tosa Suzuri are made from high-quality slate mined from veins in the valleys of Mihara Village, Kochi Prefecture. The color is bluish-black, containing copper powder and silver stars. The inkstone has extremely fine fangs (鋒鋩), allowing for quick ink grinding, excellent ink dispersion, and a moist quality, closely resembling Chinese Duan inkstones. ◯ This piece, weighing over 3.2kg, is a very rare, extra-long, large inkstone that uses a large amount of stone material. The sea and hills have beautiful, mottled stone patterns running horizontally. Also, when light is applied, it sparkles like scattered silver sand. Furthermore, the inkstone hill has silver "mouse feet" scratches, resembling Amehata stone, spread across the entire hill, mainly on the lower side. The edges and sides of the inkstone are finished straight and sharp. Furthermore, the edge width is treated in three ways: thick at the top, medium on the sides, and thin at the bottom, creating a subtle and beautiful balance. The depth of the ink sea is about 30mm, making it very deep and allowing for ample ink use.
