This is a deadstock, unused fur hood for the US military M-65 Mod coat. When attached to the parka and fastened around the neck, the fur keeps you warm, and a wire is built into the brim. M-65 hoods are used around the head and neck, where there is a lot of sebum. Therefore, in used clothing, the wool felt lining tends to accumulate hair and invisible dirt from previous owners. Also, washing can cause the fur to tangle and lose its fluffy texture, so we recommend using a clean, unused item. I purchased a box of six hoods tied together with string, and I have stored some of them in a dark place without using them. This hood has some white marks on the fabric around the bent wire area, caused by rubbing against the cardboard in the box, and two small tears about 1cm long (see the last photo). There are no other tears or stains, but please understand that this is a military surplus item. The overall photos are from an 80s model I used previously.
