This is a commemorative stamp from the Matsuura City Buried Cultural Property Center in Nagasaki Prefecture, featuring the "Takashima no Kangun Sohain" (Seal of the Commander-in-Chief of the Naval Forces of Takashima), a tangible cultural property designated by Nagasaki Prefecture. Discovered in 1974 by islanders digging for shellfish on the coast of Kanzaki, Takashima-cho, the bronze seal is inscribed with "Kangun Sohain" in "Phags-pa script," commissioned by Kublai Khan from the Tibetan monk Phags-pa. Originally, military ranks were established in descending order of seniority: "Myriad-Household Commander," "General Commander," "Thousand-Household Commander," "General Controller," "Hundred-Household Commander," and "Suppression Commander," and it is said that this seal was used by non-commissioned officers.
