This is a kimono made with Honba Oshima 7-mark katasu-style kasuri. From a distance, it appears to be a greenish-brown Rikyu-cha color, with a cloud pattern background and a subdued reddish-orange Ebi-iro color, mainly weaving a pattern of branches and leaves resembling hagi (bush clover). Even when looking at a single cloud pattern, the weaver demonstrates fine weaving techniques by using kasuri threads of varying shades, much like a dyed gradation. Katasu-style kasuri refers to the T-shaped kasuri patterns created by weaving kasuri threads (patterned threads) marked with red lines in the first photo and ground threads (plain threads) marked in yellow. The arrangement method is one kasuri thread, three ground threads, and this arrangement continues throughout. It's a vertical thread arrangement of 1, 3, 1, 3, 1, 3 (as seen in the 13th photo). It is said that katasu-style has become the majority of Oshima kasuri in recent years due to the aging of skilled workers, as it is less burdensome for the weaver than the hitomoto (one-source) style. However, we often sell hitomoto-style items, and this katasu-style is a rare offering. Although this katasu-style is less burdensome than the hitomoto style, the weaver's workload is still considerable, which you should understand once you hold this Oshima in your hands. For the vertical kasuri threads, 7-mark has three ground threads (yellow threads) in between, and 9-mark has two. "Mark" (maruki) indicates the fineness of the kasuri. The narrower the spacing between the vertical kasuri threads, the more kasuri there is, and the more intricate the pattern becomes. The lining is white habutae silk, and the hagaki (underskirt) uses red Ryokoma silk for tsumugi. Dimensions (cm) Length (back): 147, Yuke: 62, Sleeve width: 32, Sleeve length: 47, Back width: 29, Front width: 24.5 Wide collar with snap closures. Recommended for petite individuals, approximately 150cm tall, depending on body type. Foundation marks are visible on both collar edges (photos 1-8). There appear to be no other stains or dirt. We check for stains and dirt as thoroughly as possible, but there may be oversights. We appreciate your understanding. These are digital camera images. Please note that colors may vary depending on the camera, smartphone, and computer used.
