Compared to 100mm class macro lenses, its small size and light weight are outstanding, and it seems to perform best when paired with a lightweight DSLR like the K-m or K-30. The 50mm has a more subdued bokeh, so it's better suited for photographing small flowers where you can maximize the magnification, rather than large flowers like roses.
