The Akama inkstone, which is arguably unique in Japan, is characterized by its rich red color, fine, hard, and dense stone quality, and beautiful stone surface. In this work, the characteristic adzuki bean color of Akama stone appears uniformly across the entire surface, resembling hills and the sea. It is a special inkstone with plum blossoms and buds carved on the upper part of the inkstone edge of a natural inkstone in a well-balanced manner. When you trace the inner edge with your fingertip, you can feel a sharp and precise yet comfortable sensation as you go around the entire edge. This is a masterpiece that clearly demonstrates the skill of a master craftsman. The work was specially made as a gift from the local teaching staff. It is a beautiful, new work that is pleasing to the eye and can be used.
