I've created a reversible hanhaba obi (half-width obi) combining a batik-style print featuring birds and plants on high-quality cotton lawn with Japanese linen in shikong-iro (purple), a color considered noble since ancient times. The batik-style print fabric was pre-washed, and no color bleeding was observed, so you can use it with confidence during the sweaty season or on rainy days (washing is not possible). Also, the batik-style print side has two seams, 170cm from each end (see photo 9). Stitches have been added for reinforcement. This design will be discontinued after the two items currently listed are sold. Please note that the pattern placement and length differ from No. 53. During the final inspection, I found that the original fold lines on the fabric, which are present up to 170cm from the end, could not be removed. Therefore, the price is slightly lower than No. 53. They are barely visible due to the pattern, but may be visible depending on the light. The obi core is mold-resistant and pre-shrunk, and a high-quality Mikawa core that blends well with the fabric has been carefully hand-sewn. Instead of using adhesive interlining that peels off in a few years, I use hand-sewn Japanese Mikawa core, and the construction is similar to commercially available products.
