He is highly regarded for his feminine sense of color, and he releases new works every year with a neo-classic theme. He has been certified as a traditional craftsman designated by the Minister of International Trade and Industry for his long years of achievements, and is also a leading female artist. The Kimekomi doll bodies made by Isshu with new materials have features such as "being durable without losing their shape even when small, and having almost no insect damage or long-term shrinkage."
