The original debuted in 2009 as a flagship model, featuring the same sole as the "2002" that followed. It was a high-performance running shoe named after the year the New Balance brand was founded, "1906." The reissued "1906R" has been updated with a high-spec sole that boasts high shock absorption and repulsion, similar to the "2002R" that was reissued in 2020. The gray color, inspired by the original color of the "2002," combines nubuck, mesh, and synthetic panels. It features a heel support made of TPU material, and N lock, which enhances the support of the saddle part by linking the N logo with the shoelaces. The sole unit employs ABZORB cushioning, N-ergy cushioning, and a stability web that reinforces the arch with TPU material, providing comfortable wear every day.
