This is a small handmade container made using the bark of a white birch tree. I purchased it a few years ago from an antique shop for about 5000 yen. There was a chip in the lid from the time of purchase. I've had it displayed on a shelf and used it for several years. I think it has developed a nice atmosphere with age.
