About Ohori Soma: It is said that in 1690 (Genroku 3) of the Edo period, Kyukan Hangai, a retainer of the Nakamura clan, discovered pottery clay in the Ohori area of Namie Town, Futaba District, and had his servant, Sama, make daily necessities. "Soma-Koma-yaki," made in the castle town of Nakamura in present-day Soma City, was offered to the Soma clan lords, while Ohori Soma-yaki was manufactured as daily necessities for the common people.
