This is a small-sized jug from Masons of England, the Empress pattern. As the name suggests, "Empress" (meaning "empress" or "queen"), it is inspired by the Queen of England. The base features a heraldic pattern, accented with pink and yellow peonies and orange flowers, all beautifully outlined with glittering gold gilding. This series is, of course, tableware, but it also seems to have a decorative meaning, and there are not many items, making it a rare find. As indicated by the backstamp, everything except the blue base pattern is hand-painted, allowing you to feel the brushwork of the artisans. The balance between the scattered accent flowers and the blue heraldic pattern on the base is excellent, making it a very beautiful series. It is a beautiful and rare item. How about it? The condition is like new, with a glossy, shiny finish. There are no cracks. The gold gilding is also in good condition and shows no fading.
