This is a Hakata-ori hanhaba obi (half-width obi) that was stored in my parents' home's Japanese chest of drawers. It has an orange-like vermilion base with the traditional black Kenjo pattern of Hakata-ori. The reverse side has a single black line. Material: I believe it is silk, but I can't say for sure because the tags have been cut off. There is a fragment of a tag with a name, possibly the author's, on the edge.
