Handmade shogi pieces, completed on October 1st, brand new and unused. The typeface is based on the Minase Kensei 86-year-old Chushogi pieces, with letterforms selected from 82-year-old and 88-year-old pieces. Since it's not a complete restoration, I was hesitant to engrave the name of Lord Kensei, so I named them "Minase style." The original set had two gyoku (kings), so I made it three, with four extra fu (pawns). The wood is firm yet has a weathered feel, using old Satsuma boxwood. Taking advantage of its thickness, I've rounded the edges to give it the appearance of antique pieces. The lacquer has been applied three times, including the base coat. The edges of the carvings are thin, while the carved areas are filled to give a sense of weight. They will be delivered in a flat box with an inner lid, as shown in the photos.
