Madame Alexander / Madame Alexander 8” SLNW (1953) This is a Madame Alexander straight-leg non-walker doll. It is 8 inches (approximately 20cm) tall. It has sleep eyes (in good working condition). The knees do not bend. The hair color is auburn (a lustrous reddish-brown). The doll is wearing a pink (cotton) coat over a white (organza) dress, and a pink (felt) bonnet (with fading and stains, see photos). It has an Alexander-kins tag. The shoes are white button-flap (non-stitched) fuzzy-bottom shoes (with repair marks on the bottom and stains in several places on the uppers, see photos). The body is an early model (1953), made in a small quantity, and is heavier than other dolls. (It was originally said to have been made to resemble bisque.) The lip and face makeup are perfectly preserved, and the doll is in remarkably good condition for being over 70 years old.
