This is a woven container, possibly made of bamboo, that my grandmother brought with her when she got married. I took the photos with various items inside, but it's meant to be used with something like the "otoshi" (a water-holding insert) shown in photos 7 and 8. The vase is not included. If you'd like the bamboo otoshi, please let me know. It's an old piece, very intricately made. It would look nice just as a decorative item. I think it would also suit a Western-style setting with white walls, not just a Japanese-style space. It's been stored in a closet for a long time, so I gently cleaned it and patiently used cotton swabs, but some age-related staining may still be present. There appear to be no major chips.
