This is a Showa-era retro black formal kimono (kuro-tomesode). The bird embroidery is very beautiful, with a design not often seen in modern black formal kimonos. Unfortunately, there are faint stains on the white embroidery of the birds (as shown in the photos). The lining shows signs of age, with overall staining (as shown in the photos). There is a halo effect around the family crests (mon). This item is suitable for repurposing or display.
