The deeply warm violet silk fabric features kasuri patterns, known as "mosquito kasuri," which are incredibly fine star-shaped patterns. This exemplifies the beauty of dyeing befitting traditional crafts. While it appears solid-colored from a distance, a closer look reveals a myriad of surprisingly intricate kasuri patterns. You'll be captivated by the lustrous, smooth, and firm sheen of the genuine silk, the high level of skill with approximately 25 mosquito kasuri patterns woven per square centimeter, and the warmth of hand-weaving. Although it is from the Showa era, there is no sign of thread deterioration. After completely unraveling the kimono and returning it to its fabric state, it was washed and "arai-hari" (a process of re-stretching the fabric) was performed to restore the thread alignment. Afterwards, it was tailored by "Ichii-sha," one of the top studios in the Japanese kimono tailoring world. All the lining has been replaced with new material, and the under-kimono skirt has been elegantly renewed to match the violet color of the outer fabric.
