This is an Italian-made column (pedestal) from the 1970s. It is made of glossy ceramic (pottery), with a pink marble-like pattern on the column and a black glossy finish on the top and bottom, and gold leaf accents, making it a very gorgeous pedestal. Rather than being used for gardening in the garden, as is often seen, it was used as a pedestal for orchids and other flowers to be displayed in the living room or entrance hall. As it is a gorgeous item as shown in the photos, it was also used as a base for objects.
