Its origin is said to be in the Meiji era when Einojo Kawasaki, a craftsman of Murakami Tsuishu from Niigata Prefecture, came to Sendai and laid the foundation. Sendai Tsuishu is a craft that combines intricate carvings and the beauty of vermilion and black, and is a source of pride for the region.
