For sale is a FERNANDES USA APG-100. This is a USA specification model, and while it usually has a rosewood fingerboard, this one is a rare ebony fingerboard model. It has 1 volume and 1 tone control, but the tone control is a coil tap switch, expanding the range of tones (original specification). The wood grain binding adds a sense of luxury. Regarding the condition, there are scratches and dents from use on the exterior, but the neck is almost straight to the naked eye. The nut and frets (approximately 80% remaining) have been replaced. However, the fret end treatment is not very clean. The string height is approximately 2.0mm on the 1st string and 2.1mm on the 6th string at the 12th fret, and the strings used are 10-46. The electrical system has no crackling and works fine. The capacitor has been replaced with a vintage Sprague Black Beauty .033 600v (the original is also included). The truss rod rotates, but its effectiveness is unknown as no adjustment was necessary. The knobs have been replaced, but the originals are also included. A soft case is included. About the APG-100: FERNANDES USA started in Los Angeles in 1992, and the APG-100 was the main model at that time. It was produced with a simple configuration of 2 humbuckers/1 VOL/1 TONE/3WAY SW, but in 1996, the ebony specification was changed to 22 frets, and production ended in 2002. The maple top with wood binding on a high-quality mahogany back, a 3-piece maple neck, and the fingerboard specification have a moderate weight, and the 628mm medium scale, 14-degree head angle, and deep joint set neck combine to produce a tight and heavy sound.
