It is made of canvas made with "shuttle looms," of which there are only about 600 in Japan. ◆ Kurashiki Hanpu is characterized by the selvage, the part where the fabric is hemmed, and this "selvage" is a valuable part that can only be woven with a shuttle loom. ◆ The "selvage" is left on the entrance of the tissue case.
