This is a Ryuji Mitani corner tray. It's a tray with a simple wooden base and the beautifully crafted work of a skilled chisel. About 24.5 years ago, there was an event like a dinner party where Ms. Yoko Arimoto used Mr. Mitani's works, and this tray is made of the same material as the ones used there. I later purchased it at Mr. Mitani's solo exhibition at Wasarabi in Jiyugaoka. I remember that the presentation of dishes using leaves was beautifully showcased on the tray. This is one of several trays I purchased for guests. It is new, unused, and has been stored at home. For a refined atmosphere, use it for tea ceremony utensils. With a rock glass and snacks. Like a bento box! It's wonderful. I think you can spend a wonderful, relaxing time with it as a user-friendly, modern Japanese tray. Of course, it's also great for food.
