This is a large plate made in the Jiajing era of the Ming Dynasty in China. The size is 43.5 cm in diameter and 8 cm in height. A characteristic of this era is the frequent depiction of fish, and this large plate also features vividly colored fish and algae, carefully and powerfully painted with overglaze enamel. The plate has a slightly underfired appearance overall, with some crackle lines and areas where dirt has penetrated. The back has a double foot ring and features paintings of four fish, making it a masterpiece. Unfortunately, the red glaze on the body of one of the fish on the back has flaked off, but the condition is generally good. Thank you.
