This is a Kutani sake set with red-painted landscape scenery. It was a commemorative gift my father received from Tokyo. The subdued red and understated gold accents create a picturesque atmosphere. It was considered particularly elegant among the many red-painted wares at the time, and was quite expensive. I've kept it on display in a cabinet for a long time. It's only been displayed, never used, so it's in very good condition. I hope someone else will cherish it. It's a sake set from many decades ago.
