Graduated from the Sculpture Department of Musashino Art University. Born into the Kikuchi family, which originated in 1604 as the official foundry for the lord Yoshimitsu Mogami. He received guidance from his uncle, Tetsushi Nagano (Living National Treasure), from a young age and studied under his father, the 14th generation Seisho Kikuchi.
