I used it for personal and work purposes. 1. Dubbed VHS, Beta, and 8mm tapes onto this deck (DVCAM tape). 2. Digitized them using DVCAM tapes, then captured them on a computer. 3. Edited them using video editing software, then created DVDs. It has component terminals, and I think I was able to dub them beautifully. You can also play and record MiniDV tapes taken at home. *HDV format cannot be recorded or played back. I checked the operation, and Normal recording and playback, fast forward, and rewind worked without any problems.
