A custom-modified, shallow 22-inch bass drum made by cutting down a Pearl 22-inch bass drum shell, with a depth (from front hoop to back hoop) of approximately 10 inches (about 22cm, see photo 5). The shell material is a PX fiber shell. Parts other than the shell were purchased new and used, and assembled by an amateur. Please do not purchase this if you are seeking "authentic bass drum sound and construction" or "perfection." Please purchase only if you understand that this is a junk item modified by an amateur. In recent years, there has been a trend towards smaller drum sets due to limitations in transportation, installation space, and playing volume. However, I feel the "low end," "sound pressure," "presence (visual)," and "feel of the kick pedal beater" of a 22-inch bass drum more than a small-diameter bass drum like a 14-inch or 16-inch (this is just my personal feeling). Therefore, I have created a "shallow 22-inch bass drum" and am selling it to drummers who share the same sentiment. Improved transportability: ① Because it is shallow, it fits in half of a 22-inch bass drum case, and toms, cymbals, pedals, etc. can be stored in the remaining space. ② The front side is fixed in four places, making it easy to remove and attach the front head. Removing the front head during transport allows for more equipment to be stored in the bass drum case. Improved installation space: The depth is approximately 10 inches (22cm). Half the depth of a conventional bass drum. Usually, the depth is less than that of a small-diameter bass drum. Examples: ① The bass drum of the "Pearl Rhythm Traveler version.3S" has a diameter of 14 inches and a depth of 12 inches. ② In the case of products that convert 16-inch or 18-inch floor toms into bass drums, the depth is often 16 inches. Measures to address playing volume restrictions: By making the hole in the front head larger, it becomes easier to insert and remove muting material into the shell, allowing for volume adjustment by adjusting the muting. Other: The edge on the batter head side uses the original bass drum edge. The cut side has been smoothed to some extent with a file. Parts such as lugs, tension bolts, hooks, and spurs were purchased new or used. Used parts may have rust or pitting on the metal parts (see photos). The spurs are attached with parts that allow the legs to be stored inside the bass drum, improving transportability and reducing weight (photos 10-12). The hoops are steel hoops purchased used (photos 3-9).
